DENVER, CO, February 25, 2011 - At a press conference today, Denver Mayor Guillermo (Bill) Vidal, dressed in chef’s “whites” and joined 50 of the participating chefs to read a proclamation declaring February 26 to March 11, 2011 as Denver Restaurant Week. Mayor Vidal offered a toast to the chefs with Denver Restaurant Week wine sponsor E&J Gallo, stating, “I’m wearing chef’s whites for the same reason I wear jerseys from Denver’s sports teams – it’s to honor and respect the chefs who do so much for our city.”
Denver Restaurant Week (DRW) starts cooking, tomorrow, February 26 and runs through March 11, 2011, with 301 restaurants offering multi-course meals for the “mile high” price of $52.80 for two, $26.40 for one (tax and tip not included). It is the largest restaurant week in the nation.
